Royal Armouries is a charity. During these challenging times we have lost £6 in every £7 of self-generated income.
Our work as guardian of the national collection of arms and armour continues, even without this income, meaning your support is more important than ever.
If you would like to support us, and help keep our collection free for all, please make a donation or join us as a member.
You can donate easily through the National Funding Scheme platform or by clicking on the DONATE button.

Our vision is that every child will be able to access our museum learning experiences regardless of socio-economic background. As part of this vision, Royal Armouries is working hard to address a local need – improving literacy attainment levels in KS2 pupils in Leeds. We are keenly aware that the prolonged absence from school due to the COVID-19 pandemic will make the learning gap for some children who are already falling behind even greater. That’s why we are committed to continuing the development of our literacy programme, Mightier than the Sword.
While schools were closed, we worked hard to bring the magic of the museum and our education work to children in their homes via digital resources. We wanted to help parents, carers and teachers to support their children’s learning at home, which is why we published a suite of curriculum-based learning videos and activities on our Learning Hub.
Education is at the core of our fundraising focus at the moment. Your support helped us to develop our online resources at that difficult time, and now that schools are open again, we are working hard to ensure that we can provide Mightier than the Sword to disadvantaged children who are least likely to be able to access opportunities to learn outside the classroom.
Any gift will help us to reach out to the communities who need our help the most to deliver our pioneering education programmes. If you would like to support us please donate.
